This paper uses two complementary approaches to estimate the effect of right-to-work (RTW) laws on wages and unionization rates. The first approach an event study design analyze impact adoption RTW in five US states since 2011. second relies a differential exposure that exploits industries with high rates relative low Both indicate lower Under assumption only affect by lowering rate, can be used as instrumental variable (IV) causal unions wages.
